Otahuhu Historical Society

About the Otahuhu Historical Society:

WE INVITE YOU TO COME ALONG AND FIND OUT MORE ABOUT US AND WHO WE ARE

The Society has been in existence since 1976 and is very active in the preservation of items and photographs of historical interest to the Otahuhu area. We have display rooms at 12/16 High Street, upstairs and behind the Otahuhu Public Library. Our rooms are open to the public on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, February through to November between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.  Our Committee members and long term local residents are in attendance and are interested and very willing to discuss local history with those who come along. If you are researching your family history and their involvement with Otahuhu we may be able to help you.

We hold monthly meetings within the Otahuhu Town Hall Complex and interesting speakers attend to address us on his/her chosen topic. These meetings are usually held on the 4th Monday of the month at 7.30 p.m.

At regular intervals we have an outing by coach to places of interest and these are particularly enjoyed by our members and friends.

A monthly newsletter is distributed to our members advising of coming events, reports on our meetings and other interesting information.

Also, you may be able to assist us with information and photographs of former residents and items of interest pertaining to the area. We have copying facilities at our rooms and would be able to do this when you visit us.
